P90X Baby!

I got fat.

I could defer the responsibility and blame Covid-19, the lockdown, or my government's inept attempts to deal with the pandemic.  But, in truth, I did do this to myself.

Thanks to a combination of the lockdown, the associated stress, comfort food and drink I engaged in, and more...   Once again, I have become the heaviest I have ever been.

I also have been  the laziest I have ever been.  And when one pair of pants didn't fit the other morning.... that was it!!

One thing I've always promised myself from my teenage years onward, was that I would never EVER buy larger pants.

So, yesterday, I made the decision to re-start P90X.  It has been a few years since I last used that program for my fitness.

In fact, up until the Covid-19 crisis, I was doing very well with my physical health -- using a nutrition plan and a gym-based workout routine designed for me by an online personal trainer.

The Covid-19 lockdown put an end to that.  And due to a combination of the lockdown, stress, anxiety, comfort food and drink, laziness and inaction, I found myself unable to wear a particular pair of pants!

So, I went to Beachbody On Demand and signed up.  I printed out the calendars, and worksheets.

But, in truth, I did do this to myself.  I didn't respond properly to the lockdown.

As I write this post, it is the morning after Day 1.  I am experiencing that dreaded stiff, sore, "why the hell did I do this to myself" day.  

I could defer the responsibility and blame Covid-19, the lockdown, or my government's inept attempts to deal with the pandemic.  But, in truth, I did do this to myself.  I didn't respond properly to the lockdown.  I didn't seek alternative fitness methods.  I made the choice to eat and drink more crappy comfort food.

HOWEVER, because I have accepted responsibility for the consequences of my own actions and inactions, I, therefore, have the power to make new choices, better choices.  HEALTHIER choices. 

And as of yesterday, I have made that decision.

Moving forward, I have decided that my nutrition will now be based upon a whole-foods diet.  And my fitness training will now follow the P90X workout plan and calendar.  I am going to be more active.  I am going to pay attention to what I eat, and how much I eat.
